Email Marketing Specialist

The Email Marketing Specialist will own all email execution for IM8 inside Klaviyo — building, QA-ing, and deploying every campaign, flow, and lifecycle touchpoint that keeps our customers engaged, retained, and coming back.
This role sits within our retention team and is directly accountable for email performance. You will take strategy and creative direction and bring it to life with precision, speed, and a sharp eye for what makes great email content. You will be expected to have strong opinions on content, design, and performance — and to act on them.
We are looking for someone who is technically sharp, highly organised, and genuinely obsessed with execution quality. Someone who treats a pixel-perfect build and a clean QA pass as a baseline, not an achievement.
What You'll Do
1. Email & SMS Execution
Own all email and SMS builds in Klaviyo — campaigns, automated flows, A/B tests, segmentation, and triggered sends
Translate Figma designs into pixel-perfect, responsive email builds using Klaviyo’s template editor and custom HTML/CSS where needed
Execute the campaign calendar end-to-end: pull briefs, build, QA across devices and clients, schedule, and deploy on time
Manage audience segmentation and list hygiene to optimise deliverability and engagement
Proactively flag opportunities to improve templates, flows, or processes based on performance data and best practices
2. Lifecycle Flows & Automation
Build and maintain lifecycle flows including welcome series, post-purchase education, winback, churn prevention, subscription management, and re-engagement sequences
Monitor flow health and performance, identifying gaps and optimisation opportunities
Collaborate with the retention strategy team to evolve and expand the automation library
Ensure all flows are correctly triggered, segmented, and tested before going live
3. Testing & Performance Reporting
Set up and monitor A/B tests on subject lines, send times, content formats, and CTAs
Report results back to the team with clear insights and recommendations, not just numbers
Support the retention strategy team with data pulls, cohort snapshots, and campaign performance reporting
Track and own key deliverability and engagement metrics, flagging risks early
4. Brand & Content Standards
Collaborate with the creative and content teams to ensure all email content aligns with IM8’s premium brand standards and voice
Maintain consistency across all email touchpoints — from transactional to promotional
Review all outgoing emails with a critical eye — nothing ships with a broken link, a typo, or an off-brand element
5. AI Integration & Operations
Use AI tools to accelerate copywriting, subject line generation, segmentation logic, and performance analysis
Build AI-assisted workflows that increase output velocity without sacrificing quality or brand standards
Stay current on AI-powered email and retention tools and implement what genuinely moves the needle
Contribute to the development of scalable SOPs and playbooks across the email function
Requirements
Key KPIs (Initial Focus)
The following represent core areas of accountability; specific targets will be agreed in alignment with company growth plans:
Email open rate, click rate, and conversion rate by campaign and flow type
Flow revenue contribution and trigger-to-conversion rate
List health: deliverability rate, unsubscribe rate, spam complaint rate
Campaign deployment accuracy and on-time rate
A/B test velocity and actionable insight output
Required Experience & Skills
1–3 years of hands-on experience building and deploying email campaigns and automated flows in Klaviyo or a comparable platform (Mailchimp, Braze, MoEngage)
Demonstrated experience with lifecycle flows and full campaign execution in a DTC or e-commerce environment
Strong attention to design and brand consistency — you can identify a well-structured, high-performing email layout and know why it works
Highly detail-oriented and organised — you QA thoroughly and nothing leaves your hands with errors
Able to manage multiple campaign builds and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Solid understanding of audience segmentation, list hygiene, and basic email deliverability principles
Clear and effective communicator across creative, content, and strategy teams
Preferred Experience
Experience in health, wellness, CPG, or subscription brand environments
SMS campaign experience within Klaviyo or similar platforms (Postscript, Attentive)
Experience building sign-up forms using Klaviyo, Optimonk, Alia, Privy, or similar
Familiarity with Shopify, Skio, or other e-commerce and subscription platform integrations
Basic understanding of subscription business metrics: LTV, churn rate, retention
Portfolio or examples of email campaigns or flows you have built
Fluent in English; Mandarin Chinese proficiency is a plus
